CHEV SILVERADO/GMC 2500/3500 3" COILOVER CONVERSION KIT!

The wait is finally over! Since our visit to BDS Suspension in Michigan in July 2023, we have been asking to release a 3" Coilover Conversion for the Chev Silverado 2500's to get rid of the Torsion Bar front suspension setup.

The Outback Kitters Difference: We were the first in the world to test and install this kit - debuting it at the Brisbane 4x4 Show in 2024.

*Due to the Australian remanufacturing process to right hand drive, you will need a custom brake line kit for the front brakes. 

ABOUT THIS KIT

Up the ante in your 2020-2024 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500 HD 4WD truck and improve the ride with this 3-inch lift kit featuring FOX 2.5 DSC Performance Elite shocks from BDS Suspension. Designed to improve stance, performance, and capability, this kit includes everything necessary to set your truck up right with clearance for up to 35" tires. These kits feature proprietary FOX 2.5 shocks designed specifically to bolt-on performance for increase travel and the ability to soak up the roughest terrain along with smooth on-road comfort.

Up front the lift kit includes FOX 2.5 Performance Elite coil-shocks and heavy duty tubular upper control arms for increased strength. Along with the control arms, a pair of indexed cast steel torsion bar keys are supplied upfront to lift the vehicle and a small differential relocation kit is supplied to correct CV axle operating angles without affecting ground clearance. To eliminate sway bar interference, a pair of sway bar relocation brackets is used which maintains proper operating angle.

FOX Performance Elite

FOX 2.5 Performance Elite shocks offer next level performance for on-road comfort and off-road comfort capability. Tuned and ready to install right out of the box, these bolt-on 2.5-inch diameter shocks are built for abuse and packed with race-proven technology. They include a remote reservoir for additional fluid capacity to keep your shocks running cool so you can push the limits in the rough terrain. The DSC adjuster adds remarkable versatility and precise tuning with a simple twist of either two adjuster knobs, offering 10 separate low-speed and 12 high-speed compression levels, with a black anodized aluminum reservoir to increase cooling efficiency.

In the rear, a 2" block and u-bolt kit is used to create a level to slightly tail high stance when unloaded. Rounding out these kits are a pair of specially tuned FOX 2.5 Performance Elite reservoir shocks ready to soak up the terrain.

  • 35 x 12.50 on 17” x 9” w/ 4-1/2 to 5-1/2” Backspacing**
  • 285/75 on 17x9” w/ 4-1/2 to 5-1/2” Backspacing*
  • 35 x 12.50 on 18” x 9” w/ 4-1/2 to 5-1/2” Backspacing**
  • 285/70 on 18x9” w/ 4-1/2 to 5-1/2” Backspacing*
  • 35 x 12.50 on 20” x 9” w/ 4-1/2 to 5-1/2” Backspacing**
  • 295/60 on 20” x 9” w/ 4-1/2 to 5-1/2” Backspacing*
  • Larger than 20”, use 20” wheel specs

Stock 17”, 18”, and 20” wheels will not fit back on the vehicle once this suspension system is installed.

IMPORTANT NOTES

  1. Models with two-piece rear drive shafts will require a carrier bearing drop kit. (BDS121612)
  2. Requires frame bracket modification.
  3. Disassembly/assembly of the factory torsion bar system requires the use of a special unloading tool.
    The GM specified tool # is CH48809.
  4. Compatible with diesel models ONLY. Works with standard or AT4 diesel models.
  5. Some minor trim will be required with certain wheel/tire combination. This is normal with most aftermarket tire/wheel fitment on
    Chevy/GM trucks. Trimming will normally include the bottom edge of the inner fender shrouds and/or lower corner of front bumper
    valance. As a rule of thumb, deeper backspacing and shorter/narrower tires will reduce/eliminate trimming required. Further
    trimming tips are included at the end of this instruction sheet.
  6. Factory 17”, 18” and 20” wheels cannot be reinstalled due to upper control arm clearance.
  7. Coilover coil has a large amount of preload, a coil spring compressor must be used to remove the coil from the coilover. Failure to
    use a coil spring compressor may result in death or injury.
  8. Do NOT increase coilover preload.
  9. For replacement ball joints use service kit BDS081203. Ball joints are directional and must be installed with the ‘dot’ facing either
    inward or outward on the vehicle, otherwise damage may occur.
  10. Increase of 1” of track width per side (2” overall) is done to create a better travel range of the suspension to allow more droop travel
    from ride height along width helping the coilover clear the frame components.
